About

Built by a clinician, for clinicians.

Why it exists

Prodromos was built by Dr Thomas Samuels, an infectious diseases clinician and PhD researcher.

Keeping up with the literature was taking hours every week, and none of the existing options solved it. Journal alerts and saved searches return far too much, and most of it isn't relevant. Curated summaries cover too little, and on someone else's schedule. So he built a tool for himself: one that reads everything new in his field each week and sends him only the papers that matter.

It worked, and colleagues began using it too. Prodromos is that tool, now open to you.

How it works

STEP 1

A search built for your field

Each topic has its own literature search, covering the journals that matter and the questions it should answer.

STEP 2

Every new paper is read and scored

Each week, new papers are assessed against a written rubric of what would actually change practice or understanding in that field.

STEP 3

Only what clears your bar reaches you

Your digest holds the papers above your threshold: the title and journal, a one-line reason it was picked, a short summary of what it found, and a link to read it.

STEP 4

It learns from you

One tap on each paper tells us whether it was relevant, and that feedback calibrates what you're sent next.

Your library

Coming with public plans: every paper you've been sent, in one place online. Save papers, file them into folders for journal club or teaching, export them to EndNote, Zotero or Mendeley, and keep a self-recorded CPD log for appraisal. If a journal retracts or corrects a paper you've saved, we'll tell you.

Where we are

A private pilot with clinicians across infectious diseases, general practice, ophthalmology, paediatrics and maternal health. Public plans, starting with infectious diseases, are coming soon.
